Well, I’m here in lovely Lugano, Switzerland being pulled between the opportunity to see some of the most stimulating programming from international public television and the desire to explore this extraordinarily beautiful location. The movies have been winning so far, but Wednesday afternoon will be free time — to take the funicular up the mountain and have a “Heidi” experience.
One of the most interesting conversations here is on the growth of user generated content and it’s place — mediated or unmediated — in the public discourse. It’s interesting though that in the middle of the discussion, our access at the conference to the technology that supports UGC is limited to simple text — like this. Sorry, folks, no pictures right now, but I’ll post some when I get back.
Sharon Mullally is traveling to Lugano, Switzerland to present Rosita at the 2007 International Public Television Conference, INPUT. Rosita, produced by Barbara Attie and Janet Goldwater and cut by Sharon, is one of only a few US programs accepted into the international conference
Rosita, and Sharon, recently received the Stanford Editing Award at the United Nations Association Film Festival. This is one of only two awards the festival confers. Hurray!
Stay tuned for Sharon’s missives from Lugano…
…or go to the INPUT site for more information.
