ANN TEGNELL, FRAN MCELROY & CLARK DELEON WIN SPOT AT CINE PITCH CONTEST

The two producers, with writer Clark DeLeon, will travel to Silver Spring, Maryland to pitch their project, undisclosed location, at the CINE 5 on 5 for 5 Pitch Contest. Out of hundreds of submissions, 5 projects were chosen to be heard in a meager 5 minutes by 5 panelists representing Discovery US Networks, Discovery Health Channel, WETA, and Blue Bear Productions. It’s a chance for top players in the field to provide valuable feedback to producers with the possibility of further meetings, networking and programming.

undyw.jpgundisclosed location tells the story of a town and a man. The town, Strathmere, New Jersey, is a small American fishing and vacation town on the cusp of irrevocable change. Soaring property values, skyrocketing taxes and a shrinking year-round population threaten to destroy the fragile community. The man, writer Clark DeLeon, encounters Strathmere at a time of personal turmoil and rediscovers community values he thought lost. Forced to fight for the town’s survival, residents reveal their passions, while DeLeon explores the value such precious places have to the human spirit.

Held at the world headquarters of Discovery Communications, the pitch contest is part of a day-long series of events which will include a panel on the fair use initiative, and executive networking sessions, and culminates in the Golden Eagle Awards Ceremony. The 2006 CINE Lifetime Achievement Award will be awarded to pioneer filmmaker Albert Maysles.
