mdtitlew.jpgMIRROR DANCE, produced and directed by Frances McElroy and Maria Teresa Rodríguez, and edited by Ann Tegnell, will have a Benefit World Premiere on Saturday at the International House of Philadelphia.

MIRROR DANCE tells the story of Margarita and Ramona de Saá. Born identical twins, the sisters grew up to become acclaimed ballerinas with the National Ballet of Cuba. Once inseparable, their relationship deteriorated as Margarita left for America, while Ramona embraced the Cuban Revolution. The documentary follows their lives from professional ballet dancers to professional ballet masters. MIRROR DANCE is the story of two women forever linked by birth and dance but struggling to overcome a deep rift between sisters and nations alike.

The program begins at 7:30pm at International House, 3101 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia. Tickets are $10 and proceeds benefit the Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet Society scholarship program. For more information, call 610.664.3455.
